The repose of a small town is marred only by sheriff Tod Shaw’s abortive wooing of widow Ellen Benson, a disarmer who can’t abide guns and those who use them. But wildness descends on Ellen’s home haphazardly when the U.S. chairperson passes done town… and more or less psycho hired assassinator John Baron finds the Benson home ideal for an ambush.
