A school social studies grant leads to social changes that spread from city-to-city. Assigned to come up with some idea that will better mankind, a young boy (Haley Joel Osment) decides that if he can do three good deeds for soul and they in turn can “pay it forward” and so forth, convinced changes can occur. What appears to ab initio be a failure, is indeed a winner that is not straightaway known but is traced rearwards by a newsman who is a benefactor. The initial recipients of the boy are a drug addict (James Cavaziel), his badly marred school instructor (Kevin Spacey), and his soaker mother (Helen Hunt). While physically and mentally marred by past events, the instructor is not the only one aim scars. The young boy fears his mother’s fate, specially at his brutal, souse father’s (Jon Bon Jovi) hands. The mother also bears scars from her puerility with a homeless, dipsomaniac mother (Angie Dickinson).
