“Diamond Dogs” is the story of a group of American fortune hunters, who come to China looking for a long-lost-treasure. During the Soviet crack-down on religion in the 1930’s, a priceless Buddhist artifact, a Tangka was taken across the border to China and hidden in the mountains. The diamonds alone, decorating this huge gold-inlaid textile, are thought to be worth $50 million. The fortune hunters need a guide and protection on the trip, so they hire an American ex-pat, Ronson. He’s ex-Army and living an existence in Inner-Mongolia of drinks, women and bare-knuckle fights. The group takes off into the Mongolian mountains on a trek that will change their lives forever. For not only is this Tangka wanted by ruthless Russian mercenaries, but it’s also protected by something much more sinister. Something that even Ronson can’t imagine…

China, Later Tang Dynasty, 10th Century. On the eve of the Chong Yang Festival, golden flowers fill the Imperial Palace. Feeling trapped, Prince Wan dreams of escaping the palace with his secret love Chan (Li Man), the Imperial Doctor’s daughter. Meanwhile, Prince Jai, the faithful son, grows worried over the Empress’s health and her obsession with golden chrysanthemums. Could she be headed down an ominous path? The Emperor harbors equally clandestine plans; the Imperial Doctor (Ni Dahong) is the only one privy to his machinations. When the Emperor senses a looming threat, he relocates the doctor’s family from the Palace to a remote area. While they are en route, mysterious assassins attack them. Chan and her mother, Jiang Shi (Chen Jin) are forced back to the palace. Their return sets off a tumultuous sequence of dark surprises. Amid the glamour and grandeur of the festival, ugly secrets are revealed. As the Imperial Family continues its elaborate charade in a palatial setting, thousands of golden armored warriors charge the palace. Who is behind this brutal rebellion? Set in Canton, China in the 1940s, the story revolves around a miserable wannabee mobster who aspires to become a member of the infamous “Axe Gang.” Other characters let in an objectionable landlady and her seemingly frail married man who show sinful powers in defending their turf.

It is in this web of connive that they head for China, only after Walter discover’s Kitty’s unfaithfulness with one spiffy and witty diplomatist Charlie Townsend. So much as to hide her from herself and to help thwart a asiatic cholera outbreak, this is a marriage ceremony more than on the rocks. This is a cold, deaf and loveless partnership in a vast unnamed and deadly surroundings that will test both these flightless lovebirds and with the hardships and tolerances more than any had ever anticipated.
